Fish vaccines

Site-specific autogenous vaccine development for improved health and welfare of finfish species (lumpfish, wrasse, salmon, perch) in Irish aquaculture.

The Fish Health Group is developing vaccines to protect fish from infection from bacteria and viruses. The vaccines will differ in how they are administered. Vaccines to be given to the fish by bath, injection or by coating on food will be researched. Starting in 2018, this work is set to continue until 2023.  The project funding is from the European Maritime Fisheries Fund (EMFF) and BIM.
